Written by Stéphanie Di Giusto, Sandrine Le Coustumer and Alexandra Echkenazi, the script, based on real events, is set at the end of the 19th century and recounts the destiny of the first bearded woman, at the heart of a love story.

Produced by Alain Attal for Trésor Films, La Rosalie is co-produced by France 3 Cinéma and by Belgium’s Artémis Productions. Pre-bought by Canal+, Ciné+ and France 3, the feature film is also supported by the Brittany region, where filming (set to last 35 days) has been taking place since 6 October 2022. International sales will be handled by Gaumont which is also taking care of the film’s French distribution.
