Regulation

Nationals of the EU/EEA Member States and Switzerland are able to work without restriction in Slovenia, including citizens of the two most recent members Bulgaria and Romania.
Slovenia wants to monitor trends in the labour market, though, and therefore the employer must register the employment with the competent employment service within 8 days of the individual starting work. Equally, the provision of services has to be registered by the subscriber at least 3 days before the service is performed.
For all other nationalities a work permit is required
No official permission is required for feature film shoots or any other type of production other than the normal requirement for permission from the owner of the authority responsible for the location in question. Permitting process usually takes up do 5 working days for filming in the cities. Closing down traffic in the main center may take up to 14-20 days to permit depending on the location. Filming in national parks is restricted and requires special permits.

The reporting period is generally each month. For small taxpayers the reporting period is each 3 months.
A copyright is in force throughout an author's life and additionally 70 years after his death. The copyright enters in force automatically just after publication. The term "related rights" means rights in connection with a copyright. The related rights may be asserted by film producers, radio-broadcasting organisations, publishers and the creators of databases. The Copyright Agency of Slovenia (AAS) acts as a legal representative of authors and holders of copyright. Its mission is to administer authors’ contracts, offer protection of material and moral rights and conduct legal proceedings. It provides consultancy in the area of copyright, 'related rights' and the registration of copyright works.
