Co-production Treaty between
Algeria & France

Specific Conditions

• The first market must be theatrical for both countries
• Production companies must have a sound technical and financial set-up and professional experience recognized by the competent authority
• Chairmen, directors, managers shall be nationals of either France or Algeria or UE or a State that is a party to the Council’s of Europe’s European Convention on Transfrontier Television or a European third country with which UE has entered into agreements in connection with the audiovisual sector
• Artistic and technical staff must be nationals of either France or Algeria or UE or European Economic Area State; foreigners who are resident for more than 5 years in France or Algeria shall be treated as nationals of France or Algeria
• Shooting shall preferably take place in studios located within the territory of either one of the two Parties ; location shooting is allowed in another country than France or Algeria through the consent of the competent authorities of both countries where the script or action of the film so requires
• A case-by-case basis to the co-production of films between France, Algeria and States with which either of them is bound by film co-production agreements shall be agreed by the competent authorities of the two countries
