Regulation

For citizens of the following countries visa is not necessary for a visit up to 90 days: Andorra, Argentina, Australia, Botswana, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Ecuador, EU, Israel, Jamaica, Japan, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Monaco, Namibia, New Zealand, Norway, Panama, Paraguay, Portugal, San Marino, Singapore, St Vincent & the Grenadines, Switzerland, Tanzania, Trinidad & Tobago, USA, Uruguay, Venezuela, Zambia, Zimbabwe.

All foreign individuals who wish to work in the country must obtain an adequate permit.

All production companies applying for permission to film in the greater Durban or Cape Town area must register with the Durban Film Office or the Cape Film Commission. All location applications should be submitted at least 7 days prior to the proposed shoot date. Applications for shoots involving more than 30 crew and/or 15 vehicles should be submitted at least 14 days in advance. Similarly, applications for film shoots involving construction and /or road works should be made not less than 14 days in advance. Applications for traffic assistance, road closures, use of any special effects / stunts / weapons, should be submitted at least 14 days prior to the proposed shoot date.

Accepts ATA Carnets for Commercial Samples, Exhibitions and Fairs, Professional Equipment.

The standard VAT rate is 14%

In general, any original work made by a qualified person is eligible for copyright protection. Originality refers to the fact that the author must have created the work through the application of the author's own creativity and labour. A qualified person refers to any national or resident of South Africa or a Berne Convention country.
